Analyzing Groundwater Anomalies

Our research aims to analyze satellite data on groundwater and ultimately predict and better understand the impact of saltwater intrusion and salinization in Maryland in the future.

As weather patterns have changed and sea levels have risen, saltwater intrusion has become a major threat to the future of Maryland agriculture, especially for those located on the coastal plain.

We hope to use our findings to inform future Maryland agricultural and economic practices and policies.
